I'm in my 27th Year - and so you might as well read about it.

An Embarassed Update

So, it's been two weeks since I last blogged. I am sorry. I am a bad blogger - but life just seems to have gotten in the way. It's been a busy, stressful, but rewarding few weeks and certain elements (perhaps stars?) have aligned to make me more and more excited about the summer...
First and foremost - I am in a show. It's a bit of a story, so sit back and relax. Originally I was cast in a burlesque Broadway show. I was pretty stoked to sing and dance for the summer - and on top of that there was only one performance - so that was helpful too. A few friends asked me for some advice on putting up a show this summer - and I suggested a few things to them - and it was set that they were going to do a night of one-act's. I was going to direct one or two and act in one. Turns out the only time the theatre was available was the same week as the Burlesque show. Conundrum. What I decided was that I would try to do both - the two theatres were pretty close - and that if I couldn;'t do both on the night of the Burlesque show that they could just pull my scene from the one acts. What ended up happening though was we found an incredible 75 minute show called Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead which is basically the story of the Peanuts (Charlie Brown) characters in high school. It's funny, witty, crass, heart-breaking and truthful all in one show and so we (they?) decided that this might be a much better first endeavour - and I of course piped up that I would love to play CB (Charlie Brown,) whether it's because they agreed or just because I am persuasive that's now what I'll be doing, so I had to drop out of the burlesque show - which may or may not have been for the best.
Other than that, the fringe show I'm directing starts up rehearsals in a week and a bit and I am totally excited for that too... the cast is just amazing, and the material is going to be so much fun to put together. I can't imagine a better summer than spending it with those two groups of people.
Other than that, work is going well. Still loving it. I'm working a lot right now, but I don't seem to mind it.
The female situation is - well, interesting. Not much to report there except confusion, frustration - happiness? I don't know.
But the Tony Awards are on this Sunday - and I get to watch them with some great friends and THAT is a reason to be happy :)

I will try to write more often... I promise.
