Different Strokes

So I went on a pseudo-date on Saturday afternoon. I feel odd blogging about this since I suppose I've been on pseudo-dates with a lot of people - many of whom have Facebook and therefore can check my blog - regardless I'm going for full exposure here, so if you don't want to read on - that was your spoiler alert.

So I've been talking with this particular gal for a while and things have been cool, we write lengthy facebook messages, etc. She seems really sweet, down to Earth - all that good stuff. Just, like me, busy. But we make plans to get together Saturday and hit up Granville Island - and we do, and we meet and she's really cute - not to belittle her looks, she just is. She's not "hot" but I think that she doesn't want/need to be, but she's definitely a head turner. Things are great, we walk around check out all sorts of stores laugh, etc. All seems cool - though of course I am the worst and realising whether or not someone is interested in me, so I just assume she's not.

She messages me yesterday and says she had a great time, but just can't see any romantic chemistry between us - which is fine, I mean it was one date - and I'm not losing sleep over it, but it's just too bad, because she really was a very cool girl.

I took down my online dating profile last night. I figured that I need to get better and approaching people when I'm out - just to see. I have a couple of other pseudo-dates lined up for the next week and a bit - it should be fun. I love pseudo-dates... it's just great to meet people. I suppose for me, it's just an opportunity to meet people outside of the realm of the people I generally hang out with - and hopefully make a connection. It is astounding how great most of these women are. Of course there are the few crazies who make up astounding obvious lies about themselves, but they are really few and far between.

But that's my dating story from the weekend.
